Mobil Pyrolube 830
Mobil Pyrolube 830 is a superior high-temperature lubricant formulated from a blend of high molecular weight synthetic hydrocarbons and esters combined with a specialised anti-wear additive package. It is designed to deliver economical lubrication in applications exposed to severe oxidising conditions and elevated temperatures.
One of the key advantages of Mobil Pyrolube 830 is its outstanding high-temperature stability. The formulation performs effectively at temperatures up to approximately 230°C, maintaining lubrication performance while resisting thermal breakdown and oxidation. This helps extend lubricant life and reduce maintenance requirements.
Mobil Pyrolube 830 also provides excellent deposit control. Its detergent action helps minimise carbonaceous deposits and sludge formation, keeping chains and components clean and ensuring consistent lubrication over extended operating periods.
Another important benefit is its low evaporation characteristics. The lubricant resists evaporation at elevated temperatures and remains adhesive enough to stay in place, providing long-term lubrication and reducing lubricant consumption. This also helps minimise unpleasant odours and fumes.
Mobil Pyrolube 830 also offers strong anti-wear protection and friction reduction. The formulation helps maintain separating films on metal surfaces, reducing wear and potentially lowering overall power consumption in optimised lubrication conditions.
The product is recommended for oven chain lubrication in high-temperature processes across industries including mineral wool, ceramics, textiles, paper, timber, glass, paint, fibreglass, food and chemical manufacturing. It is also suitable for glass-making machines, oven trolley wheel bearings and furnace fan bearings operating at elevated temperatures.
Physical characteristics include a kinematic viscosity of approximately 180 mm²/s at 40°C and a viscosity index of around 132. Mobil Pyrolube 830 has a flash point of approximately 270°C and a pour point of approximately −46°C. The product appears clear and bright and features a total base number of approximately 4 mg KOH/g, supporting reliable lubrication in high-temperature applications.
