Castrol Cyltech 100
Castrol Cyltech 100 is a premium marine diesel engine cylinder lubricant specifically developed to provide protection against corrosive wear. With a base number (BN) of 100 the product provides a higher level of engine protection than cylinder oils with a lower BN (e.g. 70 BN products). The high BN is achieved by a careful balance of detergents that optimise cleanliness performance.
The formulation is engineered to maintain engine and component cleanliness, helping to prevent deposit build-up and supporting efficient operation throughout the service interval.
Castrol Cyltech 100 is suitable for the cylinder lubrication of the latest super long stroke crosshead engines burning residual fuels, and in particular whilst slow steaming and using medium and high sulphur fuels. Depending on the engine condition, it may be suitable for use with ECA compliant fuel with 0.1% sulphur for short periods only. Please consult the engine makers for specific advice.
Castrol Cyltech 100 meets the following specifications and approvals: Castrol Cyltech 100 has ‘No Objection’ staus with the principal manufactuers of crosshead engines for use under conditions as specified in their current oil recommendation lists.
