Mobil Pegasus 805 is a premium performance gas engine oil engineered to meet the rigorous demands of modern high-output four-cycle engines designed to reduce emissions and improve fuel efficiency. These engines typically operate under high load and high temperature conditions, requiring lubricants with strong thermal stability and wear protection. Mobil Pegasus 805 is formulated using high quality base oils combined with an advanced additive system that provides exceptional oxidation stability, nitration resistance and thermal stability.
The formulation incorporates an effective detergent and dispersant system that controls the formation of carbon deposits, lacquer and sludge. This helps maintain cleaner engines, extend oil life and reduce filter replacement costs. Mobil Pegasus 805 also delivers excellent resistance to foaming, good demulsibility and strong corrosion protection for internal engine components operating under severe conditions.

Mobil Pegasus 805 is recommended for turbocharged and naturally aspirated medium- to high-speed four-cycle gas engines from manufacturers such as Caterpillar, Waukesha and others requiring a low ash lubricant. It is suitable for engines experiencing valve face and seat wear, engines equipped with catalytic converters and applications operating on alternative fuels containing low levels of sulphur or chlorine.
Physical characteristics include a kinematic viscosity of approximately 130 mm²/s at 40°C and 13.5 mm²/s at 100°C, with a viscosity index of around 99. Mobil Pegasus 805 has a density of approximately 0.890 kg/l at 15.6°C, a flash point of approximately 262°C, a pour point of approximately −12°C, sulphated ash of 0.5% and a base number of approximately 6.4 mg KOH/g.
