Mobil Pyrotec HFD 46B
Mobil Pyrotec HFD 46B is a high-performance phosphate ester, self-extinguishing fire-resistant hydraulic fluid developed for applications where fire safety is critical. The formulation is TXP-free and designed to provide improved oxidation stability, lubrication performance and reliable hydraulic system operation under severe service conditions.
One of the key advantages of Mobil Pyrotec HFD 46B is its outstanding fire resistance. The fluid exhibits a very high ignition temperature above 700°C and, if ignited, the flame will self-extinguish. This makes it suitable for high-risk environments where conventional mineral or synthetic fluids may present safety concerns.
Mobil Pyrotec HFD 46B also provides excellent oxidation stability. The specially purified phosphate ester base stocks help extend fluid life while maintaining consistent performance under elevated operating temperatures. The product is also fully compatible with Mobil Pyrotec HFD 46.
Mobil Pyrotec HFD 46B meets key approvals including FM Global Class 6930, Siemens TLV 9012 02 and 03, Mitsubishi Power specifications and GE Power GEK 46357H, making it suitable for critical industrial and power generation applications.
Physical characteristics include ISO viscosity grade 46 with a kinematic viscosity of approximately 43.5 mm²/s at 40°C. Mobil Pyrotec HFD 46B has a flash point of approximately 258°C and excellent water separation of approximately 5 minutes. The fluid features a total acid number of approximately 0.04 mg KOH/g, water content of approximately 0.06% and volume resistivity of approximately 340 MOhm·m. Additional properties include low foam tendency (15 ml), clear appearance and controlled cleanliness up to ISO 4406 rating −/15/12, supporting reliable performance in fire-resistant hydraulic applications.
