Mobil SHC Aware Gear 100 is a high-performance anti-wear gear oil developed for marine applications where environmentally acceptable lubricants are required. It is designed to meet U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 2013 Vessel General Permit (VGP) guidelines while delivering reliable protection for gears and bearings operating in demanding conditions. The formulation provides excellent wear protection, corrosion resistance and oxidation stability to support long lubricant life and dependable equipment operation.

The product may also be used in select stern tube applications.
Physical characteristics include ISO VG 100 viscosity grade with a kinematic viscosity of approximately 100 mm²/s at 40°C and 15.7 mm²/s at 100°C. Mobil SHC Aware Gear 100 has a viscosity index of approximately 155, a flash point of approximately 300°C and a pour point of approximately −36°C. The product also demonstrates high biodegradability of approximately 82% after 28 days, strong micropitting protection and an FZG scuffing fail stage of 14, supporting reliable performance in marine gear applications.
