Mobilect 39
Mobilect 39 is a high-quality uninhibited mineral insulating oil developed for use in transformers, switchgear and other electrical equipment. The formulation provides very good dielectric properties and oxidation stability, helping ensure reliable insulation and heat transfer performance. Mobilect 39 meets IEC 60296 requirements and ASTM D1275B corrosion test standards for copper corrosion protection.
One of the key advantages of Mobilect 39 is its high resistance to thermal and chemical degradation. The oil resists sludge formation and oxidation products that could otherwise reduce heat transfer efficiency and impair insulation performance. This helps maintain clean systems and extend equipment life.
Mobilect 39 is specifically treated during manufacture to remove moisture, helping maintain strong dielectric properties. Low moisture content improves electrical insulation performance and reduces oxidation tendencies. The oil also exhibits high dielectric strength, providing resistance to electrical stress when free from contaminants such as water, fibres and polar compounds.
Another important benefit is its excellent low-temperature performance. Mobilect 39 is wax-free and maintains good fluidity at low temperatures, allowing effective circulation and heat transfer. The low pour point ensures free flow between transformer components and supports reliable operation in outdoor applications.
Mobilect 39 is recommended for use in oil-filled transformers and switchgear where the oil functions as both an insulation medium and heat transfer fluid. It is suitable for applications specifying IEC 60296 general requirements and reinforced copper corrosion protection. The product is not recommended for oil-filled cables, capacitor use or special impregnation processes.
Physical characteristics include density of approximately 0.883 kg/L at 20°C and kinematic viscosity of approximately 9.5 mm²/s at 40°C. Mobilect 39 has flash point of approximately 148°C and pour point of approximately −54°C. Breakdown voltage is greater than 30 kV, increasing to above 70 kV after treatment. The oil provides excellent dielectric performance, oxidation stability and reliable insulation protection.
