Mobilgear OGL 009
Mobilgear OGL 009 is part of the Mobilgear OGL Series, a range of advanced technology open gear lubricants formulated with extreme pressure additives and finely dispersed graphite. These lubricants are intended for large, slow to medium speed gears operating under heavy loads. The formulation provides outstanding load-carrying performance, strong adhesion and resistance to fling-off under severe operating conditions.
One of the key advantages of Mobilgear OGL 009 is its excellent wear protection. The finely dispersed graphite helps maintain lubrication under boundary conditions typical of high load and slow speed open gear applications. This helps separate heavily loaded gear teeth and reduce surface wear and damage.
Mobilgear OGL 009 also provides excellent pumpability and sprayability. The soft semi-fluid consistency allows the product to be easily pumped from drums and applied through spray systems. The lubricant adheres well to gear teeth, reducing fling-off and lowering lubricant consumption.
Another important benefit is its strong corrosion protection and operational reliability. Mobilgear OGL 009 offers very good protection against rust and corrosion and maintains lubrication across a wide range of operating conditions. The formulation is free from lead, nitrite and solvents, helping reduce environmental impact.
Mobilgear OGL 009 is recommended for lubrication of large open gears in mining, cement, steel, paper and chemical industries. Typical applications include ring gears on kilns, ball mills and other heavily loaded open gear systems. The product is designed for spray application systems for consistent coverage and performance.
Physical characteristics include NLGI 00.5 semi-fluid grease grade with base oil viscosity of approximately 1500 mm²/s at 40°C. Mobilgear OGL 009 has dropping point of approximately 180°C and black appearance. The lubricant provides excellent adhesion, load-carrying capability and reliable open gear protection.
