A key benefit of Shell Advance SX2 is its very good engine protection and cleanliness. The formulation has been specifically tested in 2-stroke engines to help prevent scuffing, ring sticking and deposit formation. By reducing the build-up of harmful deposits, the oil supports smooth engine operation and helps maintain long-term reliability.
Shell Advance SX2 also provides reliable control against exhaust system blocking. Its balanced formulation limits the formation of exhaust system deposits, helping preserve engine performance at its intended level. This contributes to more consistent power delivery and reduced maintenance associated with blocked exhaust components.
Reduced exhaust smoke is another important feature of Shell Advance SX2. The inclusion of polyisobutylenes as carefully balanced components in the formulation helps reduce visible exhaust smoke during operation. The oil offers very good self-mixing properties due to the inclusion of a hydrocarbon diluent. This ensures easy blending with fuel in premix systems while also maintaining compatibility with oil-injection systems fitted to modern 2-stroke motorcycles. Its versatility makes it suitable for a wide range of motorcycle applications. However, Shell Advance SX 2 should not be used in outboard engines, where a dedicated outboard oil such as Shell Nautilus is recommended.
