Shell Coolant Extra Concentrate
Shell Coolant Extra Concentrate is a high-performance hybrid organic additive technology (HOAT) antifreeze and coolant concentrate designed to provide dependable cooling system protection across a broad range of automotive and industrial applications. Formulated to meet multiple international standards and OEM requirements, it delivers effective corrosion protection, freeze protection and long-term operational reliability when diluted as recommended.
A key performance benefit of Shell Coolant Extra Concentrate is its freeze protection capability. When mixed at a 50% concentration with water, it provides freeze protection down to –37°C, helping safeguard engine cooling systems against freezing damage in cold operating conditions.
The formulation provides strong corrosion protection for cooling system components made from a variety of metals commonly found in modern engines and radiators. With a reserve alkalinity minimum of 11 and a pH range of 7.5 to 9.0, it helps neutralise acidic contaminants and maintain system stability over time. This supports protection against rust, corrosion and scaling, contributing to longer component life and reliable engine operation.
Shell Coolant Extra Concentrate meets the requirements of a wide range of international standards, including ASTM D3306 and D4985, BS 6580, SAE J1034, AFNOR NFR 15-601 and JIS K2234. It also meets numerous OEM specifications such as BMW GS 94000, MB-Approval 325.0, MAN 324 Typ NF, VW TL-774 C, Volvo 128 6083/002, Cummins 85T8-2, Deutz DQC CA-14, Iveco 18-1830, Fiat 9.55523, PSA GME L1301 and Renault TTM VAZ 1.97.717.97.
Typical physical characteristics include a density of 1,112 kg/m³ at 20°C, water content of 3.5% by weight and a blue-green appearance for easy identification. These controlled properties support consistent mixing performance and reliable cooling system operation.
Shell Coolant Extra Concentrate should be diluted with clean water before use, following manufacturer recommendations for concentration and service intervals.
