Shell Helix Ultra Professional AV-L 0W-30 is a premium fully synthetic engine oil developed to meet the demanding requirements of modern high-performance gasoline and diesel engines. The lubricant is specifically engineered to meet Volkswagen Group’s top-tier VW 504.00 and VW 507.00 specifications, making it suitable for vehicles from manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche. Using advanced synthetic base oils and carefully balanced additive technology, the oil delivers excellent engine cleanliness, wear protection and long-term durability in modern engines designed for extended service intervals.
One of the key advantages of Shell Helix Ultra Professional AV-L 0W-30 is its ability to improve fuel efficiency. The low-viscosity formulation reduces internal friction within the engine, allowing it to operate more efficiently while maintaining strong lubrication performance. The oil passes the Volkswagen PV 1451 fuel economy test, which requires a minimum fuel efficiency improvement of 2.5%. These tests evaluate performance factors including piston cleanliness, deposit control, viscosity stability and wear protection. The lubricant passes a wide range of tests including VW PV 1449 for viscosity increase and piston deposits, VW PV 1452 for piston cleanliness and ring sticking, and VW PV 5106 for cam and tappet wear. The oil also passes tests for valve deposit control in direct injection gasoline engines and ash accumulation control within diesel particulate filters.

Physical characteristics include a kinematic viscosity of approximately 11.9 mm²/s at 100°C and 58.7 mm²/s at 40°C, a viscosity index of around 204, density of approximately 838 kg/m³ at 15°C, a flash point of about 226°C and a pour point of approximately −51°C, ensuring reliable lubrication performance across a wide range of operating temperatures.
