Shell Rotella DD+ 40 is a high-performance heavy-duty diesel engine oil specifically developed for use in Detroit Diesel two-stroke engines. The oil is engineered to meet the performance requirements of Detroit Diesel Corporation two-stroke engines, ensuring dependable lubrication and long engine life in both on-highway and off-highway applications.

Physical characteristics include a kinematic viscosity of approximately 138 mm²/s at 40°C and 14.4 mm²/s at 100°C with a viscosity index of approximately 103. The oil has a density of approximately 899 kg/m³ at 15°C, a flash point of approximately 250°C and a pour point of approximately –15°C, supporting reliable lubrication performance across demanding operating conditions.
