Millers Oils CFS 5W-40 NT+
Millers Oils CFS 5W-40 NT+ is a competition fully synthetic triple ester engine oil built on NANODRIVE, the award-winning Millers Oils motorsport technology. It is aimed squarely at competition engines where maximum power release is the preferred criteria, and is the grade to reach for when qualifying pace has to be there and then last through an arduous race event.
NANODRIVE combines advanced nanoparticles with triple ester chemistry. In an engine oil that pairing works to reduce friction, protect against wear and maximise power in situations where stress on components is at its limit. This is the second generation of the low friction technology, and Millers Oils quote a friction reduction of greater than 53% and a reduction in wear scar of up to 48% against the equivalent typical passenger car product.
The triple ester formulation is what carries the load. Three ester types work together for optimised film strength and anti-wear protection, which is the property that matters when an engine is held at high rpm with high bearing loads and minimal recovery time. The fully synthetic base protects the engine at both low start-up temperatures and high running temperatures, so the same oil is doing useful work on a cold out-lap and on the final stint.
CFS 5W-40 NT+ is suitable for all race types, including endurance, time attack, sprints, hill climb, circuit racing and rallying, and for all normally aspirated and turbocharged engines. It is more suited to professional race teams and organisations where performance without compromise is required. The oil is suitable for operating at 125°C with peak temperatures up to 150°C.
The practical outcome that competition users tend to report is improved reliability through reduced component failures, which is a function of the film strength and the friction reduction working together rather than of any single additive.
Typical characteristics are a density of 0.855 g/ml at 15°C, a kinematic viscosity of 13.4 cSt at 100°C and a flashpoint above 200°C.
