Millers Oils Multifleet 15W-40
Millers Oils Multifleet 15W-40 is a mineral, full SAPS heavy duty engine oil suitable for all modern engine technology up to and including EURO 5. It is formulated to meet a wide spread of manufacturer specifications, which is what makes it the workhorse grade for mixed commercial fleets running vehicles of different ages and marques from a single bulk tank.
The breadth of approval is the point of this product. A fleet operator running a mixture of DAF, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, MAN and Cummins-powered vehicles alongside older plant can generally cover the lot with one 15W-40, and Multifleet is built for exactly that. The technical data sheet also notes it is suitable for some automotive applications, which extends its usefulness to the light vehicles that sit alongside the trucks in most yards.
Cold flow properties on startup are strong for a mineral 15W-40, protecting vital components in the period immediately after a cold start when oil pressure is still building. Extended drain capability is available where the manufacturer permits it, and the TBN of 11 mgKOH/g gives the alkaline reserve needed to neutralise combustion acids across a long interval, which is the limiting factor on drain length in most diesel applications.
The performance profile covers ACEA E7, API CI-4, CAT ECF-2, Cummins CES 20078 and CES 20077, Detroit Diesel DDC 93K215, Deutz DQC III-10, MACK EO-N+, MAN M 3275-1, Mercedes-Benz MB 228.3, MTU Type 2, Renault RLD-2 and Volvo VDS-3.
It is additionally suitable for ACEA A3/B4 and A3/B3, API CH-4, CF and SL, CAT ECF-1a, Cummins CES 20076, 20075, 20072 and 20071, Deutz DQC II-10, DQC I-05 and DQC I-02, Global DHD-1 and DH-1, IVECO 18-1804 T2 E7 and 18-1804 T2 E3, MACK EO-M+, MAN M 271, Mercedes-Benz MB 228.1, MTU Type 1, Renault RLD-2, RLD and RD, and Volvo VDS-2 and VDS.
Typical characteristics are a density of 0.879 g/ml at 15°C, a kinematic viscosity of 14 cSt at 100°C, a flashpoint above 200°C and a TBN of 11 mgKOH/g.
