Mobil DTE 832
Mobil DTE 832 is a high-performance turbine lubricant engineered for use in steam turbines, gas turbines and combined cycle (CCGT) systems operating under severe conditions. Formulated with high-quality hydrotreated base oils and advanced additive technology, it provides excellent resistance to thermal and oxidative degradation while delivering strong deposit control and system cleanliness. The formulation also incorporates a non-zinc anti-wear system to meet the load-carrying requirements of geared turbine systems.
One of the key advantages of Mobil DTE 832 is its exceptional thermal and oxidation stability. The lubricant resists degradation at high operating temperatures, helping to reduce deposit formation, filter plugging and system fouling. This supports cleaner turbine systems, improved reliability and extended oil service life.
Mobil DTE 832 also provides excellent water separation performance. The oil effectively separates from water, ensuring proper lubrication and efficient water removal. This is particularly important in steam turbine systems where water contamination may occur, helping to protect components and maintain system efficiency.
Another important benefit of Mobil DTE 832 is its strong anti-wear protection. The formulation is designed to protect both geared and non-geared turbine systems, helping reduce wear on critical components and extending equipment life. This contributes to lower maintenance costs and improved operational reliability.
Mobil DTE 832 also offers excellent air release and anti-foaming characteristics. These properties help prevent aeration, cavitation and unstable operation, ensuring smooth control system performance and reducing the risk of equipment damage.
Mobil DTE 832 is recommended for use in steam turbines, gas turbines and combined cycle power generation systems, including applications with common circulation systems. It is suitable for electric power generation, natural gas transmission, process industries and cogeneration plants where a single high-performance turbine oil is required.
Physical characteristics include a kinematic viscosity of approximately 29.6 mm²/s at 40°C and 5.4 mm²/s at 100°C, with a viscosity index of around 110. Mobil DTE 832 has a density of approximately 0.86–0.87 kg/l at 15°C, a flash point of approximately 224°C and a pour point of approximately −30°C, supporting reliable performance across a wide range of operating conditions.
