Mobilcut 140 BF
Mobilcut 140 BF is part of the Mobilcut range of high-performance water miscible metal removal fluids. Formulated with advanced base oils, additives and emulsifiers, these non-chlorinated products provide dependable performance across a wide variety of machining operations. Mobilcut 140 BF is supplied as a concentrate and mixed with water at the point of use, forming a stable micro-emulsion suitable for modern machine shop applications.
Mobilcut 140 BF is a long-life, boron-free soluble fluid designed for grinding and general machining. The formulation provides excellent emulsion stability and durability, helping improve tool life and surface finish even in demanding machining operations. It performs well across a wide range of materials and is easy to monitor and maintain in service.
One of the key advantages of Mobilcut 140 BF is its stable emulsion performance. The fluid forms stable emulsions in both soft and hard water conditions, helping maintain consistent machining performance. The formulation also offers low foaming characteristics, making it suitable for high-pressure systems while improving machine cleanliness and reducing maintenance requirements.
Mobilcut 140 BF also provides strong corrosion protection and good separability from fines. This helps improve filterability, maintain surface finish quality and extend fluid life. The fluid resists formation of sticky residues and separates easily from tramp oils, supporting long sump life and reduced operating costs.
Mobilcut 140 BF is recommended for grinding and machining of cast iron and a wide variety of materials in moderate to heavy-duty operations such as milling, turning, drilling, reaming, boring and sawing. Typical recommended concentrations range from approximately 5–7% for grinding, 6–8% for low alloy steel machining and up to 8–12% for difficult machining operations.
Physical characteristics include density of approximately 986 kg/m³ at 15°C and kinematic viscosity of approximately 120 mm²/s at 20°C. Mobilcut 140 BF has a pH of approximately 10.1 at 5% concentration and appears as a yellow turbid liquid in concentrate form, producing a translucent emulsion when mixed with water.
