Mobilgard ADL 30
Mobilgard ADL 30 is part of the Mobilgard ADL Series, a range of high-performance diesel engine oils developed for medium- and high-speed engines operating under high Brake Mean Effective Pressure (BMEP) conditions using distillate fuels. The balanced formulation is designed to combat lacquer formation, reduce deposits and provide strong wear protection in severe service applications.
One of the key advantages of Mobilgard ADL 30 is its excellent engine cleanliness performance. Enhanced detergency and dispersancy help reduce deposits in the ring belt area, minimise liner lacquering and reduce piston ring groove deposits. This contributes to improved engine efficiency and extended overhaul intervals.
Mobilgard ADL 30 also provides superior load-carrying and wear protection. The formulation helps minimise piston ring and liner wear while protecting critical bearing surfaces. Stay-in-grade shear stability helps reduce oil consumption and maintain reliable lubrication performance in severe duty engines.
Another important benefit is its strong thermal and oxidation stability. Mobilgard ADL 30 helps reduce sludge formation, top deck deposits and bore polishing while maintaining oil performance over extended service intervals. High TBN levels help prevent corrosive wear associated with higher sulphur fuels.
Mobilgard ADL 30 is intended for high BMEP medium- and high-speed diesel engines in marine and shipboard applications. It is particularly suited for severe duty engines requiring increased detergency, dispersancy and lacquer control beyond conventional diesel engine oils. The oil may also be used in marine gearing applications where load-carrying capability is required.
Physical characteristics include SAE 30 viscosity grade with kinematic viscosity of approximately 90 mm²/s at 40°C and 11.5 mm²/s at 100°C. Mobilgard ADL 30 has flash point of approximately 230°C, pour point of approximately −30°C and total base number of approximately 12. The oil provides strong cleanliness control, wear protection and extended service performance in severe marine diesel engine applications.
