Mobilgear 600 XP 220
Mobilgear 600 XP 220 is part of the Mobilgear 600 XP Series, a range of extra high-performance gear oils formulated for enclosed gear drives operating under severe conditions. These oils provide outstanding extreme pressure characteristics and load-carrying capability, helping protect gears, bearings and seals in modern high power density gearboxes. The balanced formulation helps prevent micropitting and early gear tooth damage while maintaining compatibility with common seal materials.
One of the key advantages of Mobilgear 600 XP 220 is its excellent gear and bearing wear protection. The formulation helps reduce micropitting, surface fatigue and debris denting, extending component life and improving equipment reliability. Enhanced bearing protection contributes to reduced maintenance and improved productivity.
Mobilgear 600 XP 220 also provides strong oxidation resistance and thermal stability. The oil resists sludge and deposit formation, helping maintain clean gearboxes and extend lubricant service life. Excellent rust and corrosion protection helps safeguard steel and copper-containing components in demanding industrial environments.
Another important benefit is its wide application capability. Mobilgear 600 XP 220 is suitable for industrial spur, helical and bevel gears operating under heavy or shock loads. It may also be used in marine gearing and non-gear applications including heavily loaded plain and rolling contact bearings operating at slow speeds.
Mobilgear 600 XP 220 is recommended for enclosed gear drives using splash or circulation lubrication systems operating at bulk oil temperatures up to approximately 100°C. The formulation helps maintain seal integrity, reduce leakage and improve overall gearbox reliability.
Physical characteristics include ISO VG 220 viscosity grade with kinematic viscosity of approximately 220 mm²/s at 40°C and 19.0 mm²/s at 100°C. Mobilgear 600 XP 220 has density of approximately 0.89 kg/L at 15°C, flash point of approximately 240°C and pour point of approximately −24°C. The oil provides strong extreme pressure protection and reliable long-term gear performance.
