Mobiltherm 603
Mobiltherm 603 is part of the Mobiltherm 600 Series, a range of high-performance heat transfer oils developed for use in closed and open indirect heating systems. These oils are formulated from highly refined base stocks that offer excellent resistance to thermal cracking and chemical oxidation, ensuring reliable performance in demanding industrial processes.
One of the key advantages of Mobiltherm 603 is its excellent thermal stability. The formulation resists breakdown at high temperatures, helping to prevent sludge and coke formation. This ensures clean system operation, maintains heat transfer efficiency and reduces maintenance requirements over extended service periods.
Mobiltherm 603 also provides efficient heat transfer performance. Its carefully balanced viscosity and thermal properties allow rapid heat dissipation and consistent temperature control across the system. This contributes to improved process efficiency and reduced operating costs.
Another important benefit is its long service life. The oil’s resistance to oxidation and thermal degradation helps maintain stable viscosity and performance over time, reducing the need for frequent oil changes and minimising downtime. It also offers good low-temperature fluidity, allowing for easier system start-up and reliable circulation in cold conditions.
Mobiltherm 603 is recommended for use in closed indirect heating systems operating at bulk oil temperatures up to approximately 285°C and in open systems up to approximately 150°C. It is suitable for a wide range of industrial applications requiring reliable and efficient heat transfer, including process heating, chemical processing and manufacturing operations.
Physical characteristics include kinematic viscosity of approximately 20.2 mm²/s at 40°C and 4.2 mm²/s at 100°C. Mobiltherm 603 has density of approximately 0.835 kg/L at 15°C, flash point of approximately 194°C and pour point of approximately −15°C. The oil delivers reliable heat transfer performance, excellent thermal stability and long-lasting operation in industrial systems.
