Shell Gadus Fifth Wheel Grease is a high-performance heavy-duty lubricant specifically formulated for the lubrication of fifth wheel couplings used in articulated vehicles. These couplings, which connect the tractor unit to the trailer, operate under extremely high loads and constant sliding contact. The grease has been developed using high viscosity index mineral base oil combined with a lithium soap thickener and solid lubricants to provide reliable protection in these demanding operating conditions.

Fifth wheel couplings are subjected to significant mechanical stress during vehicle operation, particularly under heavy loads and during braking or acceleration. The grease has a worked cone penetration of 265–295 (0.1 mm), dropping point of 185°C and a four-ball weld load of 400 kg, confirming its strong extreme pressure performance.
