Mobilcut 260 New
Mobilcut 260 New is a high-performance aqueous metalworking fluid formulated to readily emulsify in water and form a stable milky emulsion. The product is designed for use across a wide range of water qualities and provides good resistance to foaming, even in high-pressure systems. Mobilcut 260 New is free from chlorinated additives, formaldehyde release agents and boron, making it suitable for modern machining environments.
One of the key advantages of Mobilcut 260 New is its excellent machining performance. The formulation combines selected base oils, EP additives and lubricity agents to provide high output quality when machining aluminium and aluminium alloys. The fluid also performs well when machining steel and copper alloys, delivering consistent surface finish and improved tool life.
Mobilcut 260 New also provides outstanding corrosion protection and strong wetting and detergency properties. The fluid is extremely tolerant against dirt and contamination, helping extend coolant life and reduce maintenance requirements. This results in longer fluid service intervals and improved machine cleanliness.
Another important benefit is its versatility across machining applications. Mobilcut 260 New is particularly suitable for machining aluminium and aluminium alloys where low staining potential is required. It is also suitable for machining steel and copper alloys. Typical operating concentrations range from approximately 6% for general machining up to 8–12% for more demanding operations.
Mobilcut 260 New forms a stable emulsion in water hardness ideally between 15° dH and 25° dH and remains stable in service up to approximately 60° dH. The fluid type is a milky emulsion with mineral oil content of approximately 45% and refractometer factor of approximately 1.0.
Physical characteristics include a yellowish, slightly hazy appearance in concentrate form and milky appearance when mixed with water. Mobilcut 260 New has density of approximately 957 kg/m³ at 15°C, kinematic viscosity of approximately 190 mm²/s at 20°C and pH of approximately 9.9 at 5% concentration.
