Millers Oils Trident Professional C2/C3 5W-30
Millers Oils Trident Professional C2/C3 5W-30 is a fully synthetic, mid SAPS engine oil for petrol, diesel and hybrid engines. It is the dual-specification member of the Trident Professional 5W-30 family, meeting both ACEA C2 and ACEA C3, which makes it the more flexible choice where a workshop needs one 5W-30 to cover both fuel-economy C2 applications and the higher HTHS C3 requirements.
That dual approval is the practical reason to stock this grade over the single-specification C3. A C2 oil is specified by manufacturers such as PSA and Renault, while C3 covers much of the German parc. Holding a C2/C3 product reduces the number of 5W-30 lines a workshop has to carry, without compromising on either requirement, and is why this grade tends to be the volume seller in mixed-marque service work.
The mid SAPS chemistry gives the same aftertreatment protection as the rest of the C-category range. Reduced sulphated ash, phosphorus and sulphur protect diesel particulate filters, while the additive package controls soot build up over the interval. Engine cleanliness and durability are maintained across extended drains where the manufacturer allows them, supporting fuel economy and reduced emissions.
In service the oil offers strong low temperature flow at cold start, getting oil to vital components quickly, and holds viscosity stability at high temperature to reduce wear when the engine is fully heated. Millers Oils stop start technology is built into the formulation to provide instant protection under both hot and cold conditions, which is relevant on any modern vehicle with automatic engine stop start.
The performance profile is ACEA C2/C3 and API SN, CF. It is suitable for BMW Longlife-04, Chrysler MS-11106, Fiat 9.55535-S3, GM dexos 2, GM-LL-B-025, GM-LL-A-025, MB 229.52, MB 229.51 and MB 229.31, PSA B71-2290 for vehicles before 2014, Renault RN0700 and RN0710, VW 502 00/505 00, and a range of Asian manufacturer requirements.
Typical characteristics are a density of 0.848 g/ml at 15°C, a kinematic viscosity of 11.8 cSt at 100°C and a flashpoint above 200°C.
