Mobil Aero HF is a high-quality aviation hydraulic fluid designed to meet the demanding operational requirements of modern aircraft hydraulic systems. Formulated using carefully selected mineral base oils combined with shear-stable viscosity index improvers, Mobil Aero HF delivers excellent low-temperature performance, reliable anti-wear protection and strong chemical stability. The fluid is specifically engineered to provide dependable hydraulic system operation across a wide range of operating temperatures commonly experienced in aviation environments.
One of the key advantages of Mobil Aero HF is its high viscosity index, which allows the fluid to maintain consistent viscosity across varying temperatures. Aircraft hydraulic systems must operate reliably in both extremely cold conditions at high altitude and elevated temperatures during system operation. Mobil Aero HF is designed to deliver stable hydraulic performance across these conditions, ensuring consistent operation of pumps, actuators and servo-valves within the hydraulic system.
Mobil Aero HF also provides excellent low-temperature fluidity. Aircraft systems can experience very low ambient temperatures during high-altitude flight or cold climate operations. The formulation of Mobil Aero HF enables effective fluid flow at extremely low temperatures, helping ensure prompt hydraulic system response and reliable equipment operation even under severe environmental conditions.

It is also used in smaller private and commercial aircraft, as well as in landing gear strut systems of larger commercial aircraft. The fluid also meets NATO Code Number H-515 requirements and delivers long, trouble-free service in demanding aviation applications.
Physical characteristics include a kinematic viscosity of approximately 14.0 mm²/s at 40°C and 5.2 mm²/s at 100°C, with a viscosity index of around 370. Mobil Aero HF has a density of approximately 0.872 at 15.6°C, a flash point of approximately 107°C and a pour point of approximately −62°C. The fluid also provides a kinematic viscosity of approximately 450 mm²/s at −40°C, supporting reliable hydraulic system performance across extremely wide temperature ranges typical of aviation operating environments.
