Mobil Extra Hecla Super Cylinder Oil
Mobil Extra Hecla Super Cylinder Oil is a premium high-viscosity lubricant formulated for use in demanding industrial applications such as steam engine cylinders and enclosed worm gears. It is produced using high-quality base oils and carefully selected additives to deliver excellent lubrication performance under high temperatures, heavy loads and slow-speed conditions.
One of the key advantages of Mobil Extra Hecla Super Cylinder Oil is its excellent film strength at high temperatures. The lubricant maintains a strong protective film under severe operating conditions, helping reduce wear and protect critical components from damage. This ensures reliable operation and extended equipment life.
Mobil Extra Hecla Super Cylinder Oil also offers outstanding resistance to oxidation and thermal degradation. It helps minimise the formation of harmful deposits in high-temperature environments, keeping systems cleaner and reducing maintenance requirements.
Another important benefit of Mobil Extra Hecla Super Cylinder Oil is its excellent lubricity and anti-wear performance. The formulation reduces friction between moving parts, improving efficiency and helping prevent unexpected downtime in heavy-duty applications.
Mobil Extra Hecla Super Cylinder Oil also provides strong rust and corrosion protection. It protects components from moisture-related damage and offers good resistance to water washout, making it suitable for use in steam cylinder environments.
Mobil Extra Hecla Super Cylinder Oil is recommended for use in steam cylinders operating with superheated steam above 260°C, as well as in enclosed worm gears, couplings and bearings where high viscosity lubricants are required. It can be applied using drip feed or force-feed lubrication systems.
Physical characteristics include a kinematic viscosity of approximately 680 mm²/s at 40°C and 35.8 mm²/s at 100°C, with a viscosity index of around 85. The product has a density of approximately 0.92 kg/l at 15.6°C, a flash point of approximately 282°C and a pour point of approximately 0°C, supporting reliable performance in high-temperature industrial applications.
