Mobilgard 410 NC
Mobilgard 410 NC (No Chlorine) is a high-performance marine crankcase oil specifically formulated for heavily loaded diesel engines manufactured by EMD and GE. The non-zinc and non-chlorine formulation uses advanced additive technology to deliver strong lubrication performance and corrosion protection when operating on low sulphur distillate fuels. The oil is optimised for modern engines, including Tier IV designs and applications using LNG, biofuel and ultra-low sulphur fuels.
One of the key advantages of Mobilgard 410 NC is its excellent cleanliness and soot handling capability. Advanced dispersant technology helps combat sludge and deposit formation, even in engines operating with low oil consumption. This helps maintain clean engine components and extend oil service life.
Mobilgard 410 NC also provides strong anti-wear and load-carrying performance. The formulation protects critical wear surfaces in heavily loaded marine diesel engines, helping extend engine life and improve reliability. The balanced TBN and sulphated ash levels provide protection against corrosion and deposits associated with low and ultra-low sulphur fuels.
Another important benefit is its high thermal and oxidation stability. Mobilgard 410 NC helps extend oil drain intervals while maintaining performance under severe operating conditions. The oil also offers excellent corrosion protection for components made from steel, copper, silver and bronze.
Mobilgard 410 NC is recommended for heavily loaded marine diesel engines manufactured by EMD and GE, as well as engines from Alco, Detroit Diesel and Fairbanks Morse. It is suitable for high horsepower engines operating on distillate fuels containing up to 0.05 wt.% sulphur.
Physical characteristics include SAE 40 viscosity grade with kinematic viscosity of approximately 148 mm²/s at 40°C and 15.2 mm²/s at 100°C. Mobilgard 410 NC has density of approximately 0.897 kg/L at 15°C, flash point of approximately 266°C and pour point of approximately −24°C. Total base number is approximately 11, providing corrosion protection and extended service performance.
