Mobil SHC Gargoyle 32 is a high-performance fully synthetic refrigeration lubricant formulated using proprietary polyol ester (POE) base fluids and a specialised additive system. It is designed to provide outstanding lubricity, wear protection, chemical stability and hydrolytic stability in modern refrigeration compressors. The product is specifically engineered for use with ozone-friendly HFC refrigerants as well as newer low global warming potential HFO refrigerants and HFO/HFC blends.
One of the key advantages of Mobil SHC Gargoyle 32 is its excellent miscibility with a wide range of refrigerants. The lubricant exhibits well-defined viscosity, temperature and pressure relationships, ensuring proper oil return and efficient heat transfer within refrigeration systems. This balanced miscibility and solubility behaviour helps maintain system efficiency and reliable compressor lubrication across varying operating conditions.
Mobil SHC Gargoyle 32 also provides excellent high temperature stability and strong anti-wear performance. Mobil SHC Gargoyle 32 is recommended for refrigeration compressors operating with HFC, HFO and HFO/HFC blend refrigerants. Typical applications include HVAC systems, commercial refrigeration, transport refrigeration and industrial refrigeration used in food processing and freezing operations. The product is not recommended for ammonia systems.
Physical characteristics include ISO VG 32 viscosity grade with a kinematic viscosity of approximately 31 mm²/s at 40°C and 5.6 mm²/s at 100°C. Mobil SHC Gargoyle 32 has a viscosity index of approximately 129, a flash point of approximately 271°C and a pour point of approximately −57°C. The product also provides very low acidity and excellent thermal stability, supporting reliable performance in modern refrigeration compressor applications.
