Mobilgrease 28
Mobilgrease 28 is a supreme performance, wide-temperature anti-wear grease formulated using a polyalphaolefin (PAO) synthetic base oil combined with an organo-clay non-soap thickener. The formulation provides outstanding lubrication performance over a wide temperature range and offers excellent low-temperature pumpability, low starting torque and reliable high-temperature stability. The grease has a consistency between NLGI grades 1 and 2 and is suitable for demanding aviation applications.
One of the key advantages of Mobilgrease 28 is its excellent high and low temperature performance. The synthetic base fluid is wax-free and has a high viscosity index, allowing reliable lubrication at very low temperatures while maintaining film strength at elevated temperatures. The clay thickener provides a high dropping point and strong structural stability.
Mobilgrease 28 also provides outstanding wear protection and load-carrying capability. The formulation helps lubricate rolling element bearings, sliding mechanisms and heavily loaded components operating at high speeds and temperatures. This contributes to reduced friction, improved reliability and extended component life.
Another important benefit is its resistance to water washout and oxidation. Mobilgrease 28 maintains performance in wet environments and resists thermal degradation, helping extend relubrication intervals. The grease also provides excellent corrosion protection for critical components.
Mobilgrease 28 is recommended for plain and rolling bearings, splines, screws, worm gears and other mechanisms requiring low friction and high wear protection. It is commonly used in landing gear assemblies, actuators, servo mechanisms, helicopter rotor bearings and other aviation components. The product is suitable for operating temperatures from approximately −54°C to 177°C.
Physical characteristics include NLGI 1.5 consistency with dropping point of approximately 307°C and dark red appearance. Mobilgrease 28 provides excellent thermal stability, water resistance and reliable lubrication performance in demanding aviation and industrial applications.
