Mobilux EP 2
Mobilux EP 2 is part of the Mobilux EP Series, a range of high-performance lithium hydroxystearate greases formulated to deliver excellent protection against wear, rust and water washout. These greases have a long-standing reputation for reliable performance across a broad range of industrial and automotive applications. Mobilux EP 2 is an NLGI 2 grade grease, making it a versatile, general-purpose lubricant suitable for most standard applications.
One of the key advantages of Mobilux EP 2 is its excellent load-carrying and anti-wear performance. The grease is formulated with extreme pressure (EP) additives that help protect components operating under heavy loads, shock loading and vibration. This helps reduce wear, extend equipment life and improve overall reliability.
Mobilux EP 2 also provides strong resistance to water washout and excellent corrosion protection. The formulation helps protect metal surfaces from rust and corrosion, making it particularly suitable for use in environments where moisture or water contamination is present.
Another important benefit is its versatility. Mobilux EP 2 is recommended for multipurpose lubrication of anti-friction and plain bearings, bushings and pins operating under normal to heavy-duty conditions. Its balanced consistency allows it to stay in place while still being easily applied, making it suitable for both manual and automated lubrication systems.
Mobilux EP 2 also offers good mechanical stability and maintains its consistency under shear, ensuring reliable lubrication over extended service periods. It performs effectively across a typical operating temperature range of approximately −20°C to 130°C.
Physical characteristics include NLGI 2 consistency with lithium thickener and base oil viscosity of approximately 160 mm²/s at 40°C. Mobilux EP 2 has a dropping point of approximately 190°C and a Timken OK load of 40 lb, indicating strong extreme pressure capability. The grease delivers reliable performance, excellent protection and long service life in a wide range of industrial applications.
