Shell Nautilus Premium Outboard
Shell Nautilus Premium Outboard is a high-performance lubricant developed specifically for two-stroke gasoline outboard engines. Formulated with advanced additive technology and high-quality base oils, the lubricant provides reliable engine protection, clean operation and consistent performance across a wide range of marine operating conditions. The product is designed to meet the lubrication requirements of modern outboard engines while helping extend engine life and maintain reliable performance throughout demanding marine applications.
A key advantage of Shell Nautilus Premium Outboard is its ability to provide excellent protection for critical engine components. Two-stroke outboard engines operate under demanding conditions that involve high temperatures, heavy loads and exposure to water and moisture. The advanced formulation helps protect engine components such as pistons, rings and cylinder walls from wear and scuffing, supporting long-term engine durability. By forming a protective lubricating film between moving metal surfaces, the oil helps reduce friction and maintain reliable engine operation over extended periods of use.
Shell Nautilus Premium Outboard is also designed to maintain clean engine performance. Two-stroke engines can be prone to deposit formation if poor quality lubricants are used. The product’s advanced additive system helps minimise carbon deposits within the combustion chamber and exhaust system. This contributes to cleaner engine operation, improved combustion efficiency and reduced risk of spark plug fouling, helping maintain consistent engine performance.
Another important benefit of Shell Nautilus Premium Outboard is its broad compatibility with modern outboard engine designs. The lubricant exceeds the requirements of major outboard motor manufacturers and is certified by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) for the TC-W3® performance standard. This certification confirms that the oil meets strict industry requirements for wear protection, deposit control and overall lubrication performance in water-cooled two-stroke outboard engines.
The oil is suitable for use in all two-stroke gasoline outboard engines, including those equipped with either premix lubrication systems or separate oil injection systems. Its self-mixing formulation ensures reliable blending with fuel when used in premix applications, while its viscosity characteristics allow smooth flow through modern oil injection systems. These features make it a versatile lubricant suitable for a wide range of marine engines used in recreational boats, fishing vessels and other small marine craft.
Physical characteristics include a kinematic viscosity of approximately 55 mm²/s at 40°C and 8.9 mm²/s at 100°C with a density of approximately 870 kg/m³ at 15°C. The oil has a flash point of approximately 70°C and a pour point of approximately –35°C, supporting reliable lubrication performance in varying marine operating environments.
