Shell Refrigeration Oil S4 FR-V 32 is a high-performance synthetic refrigeration compressor lubricant formulated using alkylated benzene base fluids. The lubricant has been developed to provide reliable lubrication and system cleanliness in a wide range of refrigeration compressor applications. Its formulation offers excellent solvency, strong thermal stability and long service life, making it suitable for use in many refrigeration systems using common refrigerants.
One of the key advantages of Shell Refrigeration Oil S4 FR-V 32 is its ability to support refrigeration system efficiency. The alkylated benzene base oil provides high solvency, helping maintain cleanliness within the refrigeration circuit by preventing the formation and accumulation of sludge and deposits. It can be used in both rotary and reciprocating compressor designs. The lubricant is compatible with a wide range of refrigerants including ammonia (R717), carbon dioxide (R744), hydrocarbons such as propane (R290) and traditional CFC and HCFC refrigerants such as R12 and R22. However, it is not recommended for use with HFC refrigerants.
Physical characteristics include a kinematic viscosity of approximately 29 mm²/s at 40°C and 4.1 mm²/s at 100°C with a density of approximately 870 kg/m³ at 15°C. The oil has a flash point of approximately 180°C and a pour point of approximately –45°C, supporting reliable lubrication performance across a wide range of refrigeration system operating conditions.
