Mobil Gas Compressor Oil
Mobil Gas Compressor Oil is a premium synthetic lubricant formulated using poly-alkylene glycol (PAG) base oils. It is specifically designed for use in gas compressors handling hydrocarbon and chemical gases, particularly in environments where gas solubility in conventional oils can lead to performance issues. It is also widely used in marine applications, including vessels carrying liquefied gas cargoes.
One of the key advantages of Mobil Gas Compressor Oil is its low gas solubility. Compared to mineral oils, it resists dilution from gases, maintaining viscosity and ensuring consistent lubrication performance. Physical characteristics include a kinematic viscosity of approximately 175 mm²/s at 40°C and a density of approximately 1.055 kg/l at 15°C. The product has a flash point of approximately 294°C, a pour point of approximately −36°C and an ASTM colour of less than 2.0, supporting reliable performance in demanding gas compression environments.
