Mobilgard M330
Mobilgard M330 is part of the Mobilgard M30 Series, a range of premium extra high-performance 30 TBN engine oils developed for severe residual-fuelled medium-speed diesel engines used in marine and stationary power applications. These trunk piston engine oils are formulated with advanced detergent additive technology to provide outstanding residual fuel compatibility and excellent engine cleanliness, particularly in crankcase, camshaft areas, ring belt zones and piston undercrowns.
One of the key advantages of Mobilgard M330 is its excellent thermal and oxidation stability. The formulation resists viscosity increase over long operating periods and helps reduce deposits in piston undercrown and ring belt areas. This supports extended oil life and improved engine reliability.
Mobilgard M330 also provides strong anti-wear protection and detergency performance. The advanced additive system helps protect critical wear surfaces while maintaining clean camshaft and crankcase areas. Excellent residual fuel compatibility reduces sludge formation and supports long-term lubrication performance.
Another important benefit is its corrosion protection capability. The 30 TBN alkalinity reserve helps neutralise acids formed when operating on high sulphur fuels. This helps protect rings, liners and bearings from corrosive wear and extends component life. Low volatility base stocks also help reduce oil consumption.
Mobilgard M330 is recommended for medium-speed trunk piston engines used in marine propulsion, auxiliary engines and stationary power plants operating on heavy fuel. It is particularly beneficial in engines with low crankcase oil consumption or low cylinder liner temperatures.
Physical characteristics include SAE 30 viscosity grade with kinematic viscosity of approximately 12 mm²/s at 100°C. Mobilgard M330 has density of approximately 0.907, flash point of approximately 244°C and pour point of approximately −6°C. Total base number is approximately 30, providing acid neutralisation and reliable engine protection.
