Shell Gadus S5 V100 2 is an advanced multipurpose grease designed to provide reliable lubrication and extended service life in high-speed bearing applications. The grease is formulated using synthetic base oils combined with a lithium complex soap thickener and enhanced with antioxidants, extreme pressure additives, anti-wear agents and rust inhibitors. One of the key advantages of Shell Gadus S5 V100 2 is its outstanding performance in high-speed bearing applications. The grease contains a specially designed friction modifier that reduces friction and helps maintain smooth bearing operation even at high rotational speeds. This property makes the grease particularly suitable for roller bearings, including taper roller bearings and cylindrical bearings such as NJ and NUP types used with angle rings. The synthetic base oils used in the formulation provide very low starting and running torque even at extremely low temperatures. Physical characteristics include NLGI grade 2 consistency with a lithium complex thickener and synthetic base oils. The grease has a base oil viscosity of approximately 100 mm²/s at 40°C and 14 mm²/s at 100°C. It has a dropping point of approximately 260°C and a worked cone penetration of 265–295 (0.1 mm). The recommended operating temperature range is approximately –50°C to +150°C, with temporary peaks up to around 200°C.
